Nominations Deadline: September 4, 2026
Please consider nominating someone for the University’s highest honor. Honorary degrees are awarded to individuals who have achieved unusual distinction in service to the University of Utah and/or society in such areas as research, scholarship, education, the arts, humanities, the professions, business, government service, civic affairs, human rights, humanitarian outreach, social activism, innovation and invention.
Strong nominations include details of professional achievements, volunteer and humanitarian activities, community involvement, and connections to or engagement with the university.
Current members of the Utah Board of Higher Education, current members of the University of Utah Board of Trustees, and current University of Utah faculty and staff are ineligible.
Honorary degrees are awarded at the University’s commencement ceremony.
